IPMCSFL Picnic/photoshoot: Sunday June 26, 2005

Its that time again... time for another picnic at Markham Park! One added part to this picnic though is that we are going to take pictures of EVERYONE'S cars for later use in producing the calender that never was. The picnic will begin around 12:00 noon and will run until we all decide to leave. Anything you want to eat you will need to bring. If everyone would prefer that we BBQ a donation will need to be made by all attending members to cover the cost of the food/drinks. All that plan to attend please reply to this post! I will also pass around a sheet at this month's official meeting to confirm the list of attendees.

the cost if we go for the BBQ depends on how many ppl are going to attend and how many want to eat. hopefully in the near future we will be able to build the club funds so future BBQs will be at no additional cost to everyone, but until then i would guess its going to be in the $5-6 range. this would include drinks and choice of either 2 burgers, hot dogs, or one of each.

calender. as of right now it has been decided that since we do not represent a single or just a few types of Mazdas there are not going to be any cars pictured on the shirt. this should put to rest the issue that came up when we tried to get new shirts last year. no one was satisified with the image choice so the easiest and fastest solution is to eliminate the image.

i was gonna use Markham for a few reasons....
1) everyone knows where it is and how to get there.
2) we know we wont get bitched at for parking in the grass.
3) there is lots of nice scenery available.
4) its kinda in the middle of everyone.
however if ppl would prefer to go to CB Smith instead I am willing to compromise, but this needs to be decided quickly.

take either the turnpike or I-95 south to I-595. exit and head west. merge onto I-75 south. drive on that for w ahile until you get to pines blvd. exit and head east. make a left on flamingo. the park will be on your left at the first light i believe. it might be the second i dont remember.

going to the Rapids does sound like a good idea, but then we dont have any good places to do the photoshoot. which is one main reason for this picnic. if you guys want to organize another meet to go to the Rapids im all for it! they just finished construction on a new slide that looks pretty fun. ill call em up tomorrow and find out if they have a group discount and what is necessary to be eligible to receive the discount. expect a new thread on this tomorrow.

There is a nice place to take photos, but it is about a 15 min drive away. Or we could go to the Phill Phoster Park which has the Blue Haron bridge in the background. Its kinda like the 17th ST cossway but much taller, for it has no draw in the center. More Florida like. Let me know.

i have an even better idea.... instead of moving this one to every corner of FL just have more outtings instead. this picnic will remain at Markham Park, the next meet will be in WPB, and then we will plan a trip to Daytona for the day. all comments related to these new events can be made in their respective threads. Actually, the rest of us were playing naked freeze tag and I won. I had everyone frozen, due to my cheetah like speed and reflexes, within minutes. I then thought to myself how funny it would be to leave the jackbags in a frozen state. From what I was told, the majority of our club is in jail for public nudity. I'm sad to say I learned something from this. I no longer like freeze tag. Chasing around a bunch of naked men just really fucked me up. I can't eat, sleep, or look at myself naked in a mirror. God you guys run like heard of queer oxen.

If we are going to have enough people show up then a BBQ is valid. Other wise we should just worry about ourselves and meet up to BS. I enjoy getting together with everyone cause I don't get the chance to get down south that often, but to buy all this food for a dozen people to eat seems like a waste of money. Either way I'll be there.
