official hurricane meet?

Are we still meeting on Friday night? Without power and the possibilities of no phones we should figure it out. As you all know, my job may have me on call all Thursday night all through the weekend.

this meet is not going to "official" due to the storm. depending on how the weather is friday i may or may not be down there. there is a good possibility of me getting to work overtime that night so id rather stay here at work to make some extra money to spend at NOPI.

looks like sean and maybe even eric won't make it. i can organize the unofficial official meet on friday if they want me too.

i would suggest scrapping the fridays meet at towers. i don't know if they have made improvements but years ago 5-8 it would flood completely to the point where you would not be able to see curbs and parking stops. i know because my mom works at tjmax there and i used to take her to work.

those, like me, who want to hang out, i suggest we meet at gameworks or the bowling alley on 136 at sawgrass. again, if its ok with our elected officials, i can supervise. you guys can call me to get the latest info.

or as per rene's suggestion, we should move the meet to a saturday. it should clear out by the evening. this is a very good suggestion too. we won't be able to meet at towers but since noone bothers us in the kmart parking lot across from sawgrass mills mall, we can meet there, hang out for awhile and decide what to do? opinions, especially from sean and eric?

I wouldn't be able to make ir on Saturday due to prior obligations. If the storm is over on Friday night, I would need to know the conditions down there. I'm mnot going to drive that far to get hydrolock. I'm more worried about deep water vs. wind or debris. Dima, call before 5pm if the meet is on. Thank you.

I personally think that friday, Aug 26 should no longer be an "official" meet. If anyone wants to hang out, Dima will be organizing an "UN-official" meet.

I would like to go as far as saying that there should not be an "official" meet this month. We all hang out anyways on fridays, so asking the ten people who will hang out anyways is a moot point.

Not to mention that we have all been in contact with each other, extensively, over the past week for the possible sposorships. Other than that, nothing really has developed over the past month (other than this stupid T.S./Hurricane).

i am not gonna go anywhere. i am gonna stay at home and stay safe. i have learned that driving during storms is risky especially with traffic lights being out so i am not gonna take any chances. plus my car is parked for the night under a roof (office building across the street has covered cement roof parking spots) where hopefully it will be safe. so i don't want to take it out and loose the spot. i'll be online as long as i have electricity and cable service so we can chat.

what? screw you. we lost ours at about 5pm i think and just got it back 15 minutes ago. but that's the good new,s i really didn't expect it back untill well into friday.

the bad news is that there is only one entrance into the office building where my, my dads and my moms cars are parked. and yes, you guessed. a tree fell over and blocked the entrance COMPLETELY. aint no way i can get out unless i want to jump of a 12"-15" curb.

so gotta sit tight and wait for city (hopefully) to clear it out.

lol, i am gonna go take some pics for evidence. i am assumming the city won't do anything about it since its private property and i can't reach anyone there anyway. i think the owner of the building came out with some landscape company with a trailer with no heavy equipment. they talked for awhile and left. hope this gets resolved by midafternoon tommorow.

i would love to work on my mustang but i didn't buy the stuff i need. so i am stuck here for awhile. i guess i can ride my bike and pick up the water pump. who wants to come and help me install, lol

its going to be a long ass night up there. good luck to everyone. i am going to sleep. we went through it allready (it was a 1 though) and it was a long night with no power for most of it. it gets scary outside when not one light bulb is on and the wind sounds like a freight train coming in behind you. you have no idea which tree is gonna fall on you or what's gonna come from behind you :eek:
